THE AREA-WIDE CRUSADE
From a local revival to a National ministry
Union County like much of Appalachia enjoyed a rich history of community churches offering revivals during the day as well as the night. Community churches embraced the “Release time” opportunity and along with the cooperation, the first area-wide crusade was planned. Today this is being replicated across the nation.
As the work expanded, Crusade Ministries, Inc. was formed. The archived history describes a large volunteer team of counselors, chaperones, ushers, recorders, medical and safety personnel, law enforcement, bus owners and drivers, and church volunteers.
